We are baptizing this Sunday! That always gets me excited. Baptism is the public display of the new birth we experience in Christ when we place our trust in him. It is also the entry point into the church. At baptism, we public confess Christ, and we public join the Church--the Body of Christ. Here are a couple videos from the Gospel Coalition about baptism:

Our Vision
There are over 18,000 people in the city limits of Gautier, MS. Most of them do not know Christ in a saving way. Many have a very limited understanding of who He is. Those who do know something about Jesus learned what they do know from television and the bad example of Christians around them. The rest grew up in church and grew tired of the hypocrisy. Our vision is be a Gospel-centered church in the heart of the this community for all to see. We desire to live in and by the Gospel. The Gospel says we are all sinners, and the Christ has conquered sin--all apart from our work or even our participation. What this community needs is not another group of moral police. Gautier needs to see the truth of the Gospel lived out in the lives of genuinely saved and genuinely messed up people.
Our mission is simple. We want to take Christ to this community and to the ends of the earth. We don't want to take religion or even good morals--just Christ. Come be part of that vision.
