Worship

Worship is an important aspect of a Christians life.  We believe that worship should be genuine and heartfelt, sound and biblical.  In Psalm 42, the a psalmist is struggling with despair and depression and finds hope in the memory of worshiping the Lord together with others.  We hope our time of worship together each week will help you find hope.

A Message from our Worship Leader

"Who am I? I'm just a simple guy who loves to worship.  I've discovered that my God deserves all the praises we can offer up to Him no matter what we are going through (Psalm 113:1-6).  I believe that worship is a very important aspect of life... since it is a way to open our hearts to being in awe of who He is.  I also love the feeling of worship.  I remember way back in the late 90's being at a camp surrounded by thousands of youth all praising God.  I remember singing, crying, and feeling the presence of the Almighty.  There was this moment during the worship service when I closed my eyes and felt like it was just me and God.  At that moment I was in the presence, in the secret place; at that moment the only thing that mattered was God.  That's my desire--to lead worship with the understand that God is worthy and all He asks is for us to pour out our lives to Him.  That is why I am who I am--because my God first loved me."

Worship Style

We recognize that there are many appropriate musical styles that can be used to worship our Savior.  There isn't one style that is more superior to any other.  Music should be driven by context.  As you read the Psalms you will see that God's people worshiped Him with whatever instruments they could get there hands on.  At Church @ The Square, this usually means a few guitars, drums, and vocals.  Many weeks we play with a full band and sing new sound and exciting songs.  Some weeks we go acoustic and play smooth nourishing hymns and choruses.  Our goal is to spend time together in worship.
